Investment Specialist

 

 

Immediate Position Opening

Geneva Benefits Group seeks an Investment Specialist. Through strategic guidance, the Investment Specialist will provide leadership to the President of Geneva Benefits Group, the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and the Geneva Board to achieve long-term competitive investment performance, with appropriate risk, of the various funds under management.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Work with Retirement Readiness Team to serve our pastors and ministry workers more effectively through:

    1. Field Visits

    2. Financial Education

    3. New Initiatives to produce healthier financial outcomes.

  • Work with churches to address their capital asset needs.
  • Support the President by providing guidance on investment issues affecting the work and ministry of Geneva. Duties include:
    1. Develop a robust Biblical Values Investment Philosophy through:
      • Collaboration with Biblically Responsible Investment Institute (BRII)
      • Collaboration with other subject matter experts from other PCA committees and agencies
      • Manage proxy voting with BRII within PCA Retirement Plan
      • Manage reporting about investments
    2. Management of Investment Options within the PCA Retirement Plan
      • Communication of all investment-related items
      • Interact with investment managers
      • Interact with investment consultant (Callan)
      • Interact with the Chair of the Investment Committee
      • Interact with NWPS on investment changes
      • Interact with outside counsel on investment-related questions
      • Interact with custodial firms (Schwab and Northern Trust)
      • Create and manage plans for investment changes
      • Manage subscriptions to economic reports, charts, fund analytics, etc.
      • Rebalancing/ reallocation within Target Retirement Funds
      • Manage investment policy statements
      • Manage and author Fund Fact Sheets
      • Manage Board Docket for the Investment Committee
      • Manage annual investment manager fee review for reasonableness
      • Manage evaluation of investment vehicle share and class
      • Manage committee charter for the investment committee
      • Manage mandatory participant notices regarding fees
      • Manage participant advisory discussion about investments
      • Manage reporting about investments
    3. Management of Investment Options within the Relief Trust
      • Interact with Bank partner
      • Manage proxy voting
      • Manage reporting about investments
      • Manage investment changes as needed
    4. Management of Investment Options within the Insurance Trust
      • Interact with Bank partner
      • Manage proxy voting
      • Manage reporting about investments
      • Manage investment changes as needed
  • Steward Geneva’s relationships with:
    1. Investment Consulting firm (presently Callan Associates)
    2. Investment Managers for the PCA Retirement Plan, PCA Health and Welfare Benefit Trust, and PCA Ministerial Relief Trust
  • Monitor Geneva’s guaranteed income solution
  • Work with the President to create an Investment Committee Board docket
  • Provide regular (and in response to market volatility) market overview emails to Geneva’s senior managers and Financial Planners
  • Represent Geneva at:
    1. General Assembly as needed
    2. Professional Conferences and seminars

 

Qualifications

Faith

  • Strong devotion to Jesus Christ, holiness, and a passion to make Him known.
  • A Christian whose life reflects spiritual maturity as evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit and knowledge of the basics of the faith.
  • An active member of an evangelical church that affirms the tenets of historic Christianity (PCA church preferred but not required).
  • In agreement with Geneva’s Statement of Faith.

Personal

  • Passion for the church and the ministry leaders who work in it.
  • Ability to form and maintain solid relationships with church leaders quickly and easily.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Capable of delegating responsibility to the team and coaching them to performance standards.
  • Committed lifelong learner.
  • Strong collaborative skills in order to work well with other Geneva associates and other PCA committees and agencies.
  • Tenacity to persevere in challenging business and ministry environments.

Professional

  • 4-year college degree.

  • Master’s degree in a related field is strongly desired.

  • At least 5 years of successful related business experience.

  • Previous leadership experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and inspiring associates.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently to complete tasks.

  • Ongoing participation in continuing education in relevant disciplines and skills.

  • Has or will achieve a working knowledge of Accounting and Financial Analysis, Portfolio Management, Economics, and Ethics.

  • Regular and active participation in denominational and professional associations (such as participation in General Assembly and presbytery activities, CBA, Church Alliance, etc.)

Location

Geneva’s offices are located in Lawrenceville, Georgia. This is an in-office position. Remote work is not an option. Periodic travel to support the work will be required.
