WE GIVE BECAUSE
THEY GIVE

In 1973, the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America formed a committee to care not only for our ministry workers now but for the future widows of pastors. Today, the Relief Fund provides financial assistance and support to PCA pastors, widows, and ministry workers in need.

Why We Serve

Pastors and ministry workers faithfully serve and care for Christ’s church. Our research shows that many of them face significant financial and emotional stress during their working years and in retirement. It’s our duty to care for those who serve our churches.

From “Falling Apart” to Praising God: A Pastor Reflects on His Experience with Ministerial Relief

I used to think of Ministerial Relief as a ministry that only provided for widows requiring critical assistance. Every year, I encouraged our congregation to give enthusiastically to it, never imagining my wife and I would one day be beneficiaries of the generosity of God’s people in the PCA.

The Oft-Forgotten Role of the Pastor’s Wife

"It’s surprising that a person in the spotlight can be invisible. That’s how I felt as a pastor’s wife, under constant scrutiny, but unknown.  After being married to my husband and serving alongside him for almost 20 years, this past year felt like I had finally hit a stone wall. I could no longer cope with the stress and disappointments of ministry on my own."
