Relief Fund Impact
Pastors and ministry workers faithfully serve and care for Christ’s church. Our research shows that many of them face significant financial and emotional stress during their working years and in retirement. It’s our duty to care for those who serve our churches.
How Geneva Steps In

Annie’s Story
For sixteen years, Annie had suffered quietly and in isolation. Finally, she reached a breaking point. She knew she could not maintain her emotional and spiritual health on her own, so she decided to seek professional help from a Christian counselor. As Annie looks back, she observes, “The counselor was the first safe person I could talk with. She was able to help me see that I wasn’t crazy. If God hadn’t provided her, I don’t know how I would have made it.” Read her full story.
Fred & Shirley’s Story
The Guthries believed being faithful to the gospel was more important than their personal financial security. When the time for retirement came…they didn’t have sufficient savings to last them throughout their retirement years. “When I retired, I did not know about Ministerial Relief…and to just see that a gift for this certain amount has been awarded to us…I want to thank you all for being faithful to your ministers. We pray for you and give thanks for you.” Read their full story.

Leigh Ann’s Story
Leigh Ann Salter became a widow suddenly and unexpectedly when her husband Dustin, a Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) campus pastor, died from injuries sustained in a bike accident. With three young children to raise and multiple needs to be met, Leigh Anne received the grace of relief when she needed it most. “The monthly support I received from Ministerial Relief allowed me to grieve, focus on my children, and not worry about finances. It eased my burden when I needed it most.” Read her full story.
Mike’s Story
PCA Church Planter and Pastor Mike Fennema was in a fluke mountain bike accident that resulted in a spinal cord injury, severely limiting his movement. After a long road of treatment, Mike returned home to a completely different life, and his family home required modifications to accommodate his new needs. Amidst these changes, the church stayed constant. “[The Relief Fund] has been such a tangible way that we have been so deeply loved by the body of Christ — not just by local churches, not just by our presbytery, but by the entire denomination.” Read his full story.
