WE GIVE BECAUSE
THEY GIVE

In 1973, the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America formed a committee to care not only for our ministry workers now but for the future widows of pastors. Today, the Relief Fund provides financial assistance and support to PCA pastors, widows, and ministry workers in need.

Why We Serve

Pastors and ministry workers faithfully serve and care for Christ’s church. Our research shows that many of them face significant financial and emotional stress during their working years and in retirement. It’s our duty to care for those who serve our churches.

Stories of Hope

Ordinary expenses like groceries, housing expenses, and medical bills threaten to exhaust the modest funds they possess.

Rev. Bill Hughes on retirement, preaching, and the Relief Fund

Rev. Bill Hughes may be officially retired but at age 84, he continues to preach weekly. Every Sunday, he makes the hour-long drive from his home near Jackson, Mississippi to Carthage where he’s serving a small congregation without a pastor.

Generosity amidst Tragedy: The Testimony of Pastor Mike Fennema

However, on November 28, Mike went on a mountain bike ride with his children—one of their favorite activities. In a fluke accident, he flew over his handlebars and crashed onto his helmet. He suffered a spinal cord injury, severely limiting his movement.
