Each year, Geneva Benefits Group is proud to host a golf tournament in conjunction with the General Assembly (GA) of the PCA. This event has become a staple among GA festivities, ushering in a time of fellowship and camaraderie to set the tone for the business to come. However, the tournament has a purpose greater than fellowship. All proceeds benefit the PCA Ministerial Relief Fund.

The Relief Fund was established in 1973 at the founding of the PCA. At that time, when ministers wanted to join the new denomination, they would often forfeit their pension, leaving them vulnerable at the time of their retirement. Even if they did not forfeit their pension, many ministers continue to live at or near the poverty line at retirement, causing stress in what should be a season of rest. Since then, the Relief Fund has filled the financial gap facing many retired ministry workers and their spouses, especially their widows. It’s our turn to serve them.

“We are humbled to provide relief for ministry workers who have so faithfully served our denomination and Christ’s church,” shared Ed Dunnington, president of Geneva Benefits Group. “It’s a wonderful way to kick off the week at General Assembly: enjoying our fellow workers in Christ, spending time in the beauty of creation, and supporting brothers and sisters who have served alongside and before us.”

This year, the tournament will be held on June 24 at The Ooltewah Club in Ooltewah, TN. Located 30 minutes from the Chattanooga Convention Center, The Ooltewah Club proudly offers panoramic views, rolling hills, pure greens, and a challenging yet fair 18-hole golf course suitable for all skill levels.

Dozens of businesses and organizations have joined together to sponsor the event.
