Geneva Partners with NXTGEN

Geneva Benefits Group is excited to announce that NXTGEN will soon become part of Geneva Benefits Group. Since its founding, NXTGEN has focused on increasing pastoral longevity through its guided cohort model. Geneva believes NXTGEN has created a model proven to positively impact the wellbeing of pastors and their spouses.

“The more I learned about NXTGEN, the more I realized that we were working toward similar goals,” says Rev. Ed Dunnington, President of Geneva Benefits Group. “At Geneva, we are always looking for ways to help ministry leaders and their spouses improve their financial, physical, and emotional wellbeing. It became apparent that NXTGEN fit naturally into our efforts with a proven model.”

NXTGEN was started and led by Chris Vogel. Chris was recently hired to serve in a leadership role at Mission to North America. He will continue to serve part-time with NXTGEN until a new director can be found. “I am committed to overseeing a smooth transition of NXTGEN and believe Geneva is perfectly positioned to refine and develop what is already there,” says Vogel.

In recent years, Geneva has significantly expanded its wellbeing services to participants.

  • In 2018, Cherish was launched to provide counseling for pastors’ wives
  • In 2022, Geneva announced the launch of a counseling and wellbeing benefit, in partnership with Full Strength Network, whereby churches can supply their employees with access to counseling and coaching
  • Last year, Geneva also received a $1M grant from the Lilly Endowment to further pastoral financial literacy and wellbeing

Now, we continue to expand our support of pastors with the addition of NXTGEN. Looking forward, Geneva is planning to facilitate a ministerial wellbeing summit where PCA leaders who pursue ministerial wellbeing can gather to discuss collaboration and how we can be more effective in our efforts to serve the church and care for pastors and ministry workers. The Pastoral Wellbeing Summit is scheduled for November 6-7, 2023.

As Ed Dunnington, put it, “As pastors get healthier, there is greater Gospel impact because the church gets healthier and the kingdom can advance.” You can find out more about our wellbeing services at genevabenefits.org.
